The Bandicoot set to help the N-Gage avoid another Crash and burn?
Yesterday we brought you the news that Nokia and Capcom had chummed up to bring some of the developer's biggest franchises to the newly revamped N-Gage platform. And today the announcement ball just keeps on rolling with Vivendi revealing that it has reached an agreement to bring the leukaemia-fighting platforming hero Crash Bandicoot to the new N-Gage too.
Today's news is significant in that the Crash Bandicoot franchise has already sold more than 33 million units worldwide since its first PlayStation outing in 1996. Whether you love him or hate him, there's no denying that he's going to attract a fair few gamers to N-Gage, a platform that Nokia is hoping to re-invent after its first iteration (tipped by the firm as a Nintendo Game Boy Advance beater - hohoho) fell flat on its face.
"We are excited to offer Nokia customers the opportunity to enter the thrilling world of Crash Bandicoot and play a number of award winning titles from the popular Crash franchise. We look forward to working with Nokia to offer entertaining, innovative mobile games," enthused Paul Maglione, President of Vivendi Games Mobile.
So far there are no details on what kinds of evil plans Crash will have to thwart in his upcoming mobile adventure, nor when it'll arrive. Do all these recent deals mean we’re going to have to take Nokia's ex-pretzel a little more seriously soon?
