Chalkboards at the ready, folks - Jimmy's back.
The PlayStation 2’s Bully (or Canis Canem Edit as it was known in PAL regions) is set to appear on both Xbox 360 and Wii, according to a statement released by Rockstar Games today. The developer says that Bully: Scholarship Edition will ship for the two platforms with improved visuals and extra content.
On the PlayStation 2, the title enjoyed a somewhat colourful history, attracting pre-release controversy for allegedly trivialising bullying and containing violent content. The game’s appearance on shop shelves in October 2006 largely dispelled such criticism however, and it went on to enjoy widespread praise from reviewers, despite never truly managing to set the tills alight. Consequently, the return of Jimmy Hopkins and Bullworth Academy will be warmly welcomed by many gamers.
They won’t have long to wait, either: Rockstar has said that Bully: Scholarship Edition will be dishing out atomic wedgies from this winter. Perhaps the game can rack up a few more sales on its second outing, eh? If the updated versions are anywhere near as good as the PS2 version was, they'll certainly deserve it.
Oh, and anyone else noticing how Rockstar seems to have a new favourite console? Ah, the fickle world of the third-party mega-publisher.
