Bizarre Creations has revealed the first details of the multiplayer mode in its upcoming shooter, The Club. Only single-player action was exhibited during a sneak preview of the game at this week's Leipzig Games Convention 2007, but design manager Nick Davis divulged to Eurogamer that the title will feature "about nine" multiplayer game modes.
Multiplayer battles will be set in the same eight locations used in the single-player campaign (including a mansion, prison, an abandoned warehouse and the back streets of Venice) and gamers will also have a selection of eight characters to represent their fierce on-screen fighters.
Davis explained that the multiplayer modes are "half quite traditional, half based around The Club and the way it works," meaning that there'll be the obligatory deathmatch and team deathmatch options, but also a sprinkling of style in the form of modes such as Sprint, in which players must race against the clock to kill as many foes as quickly and as stylishly as possible. As you'd expect online functionality is a given, and will include over six hundred leaderboards. That's a whole lotta numbers.
The Club is penned for release this holiday season on the Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360 and PC.
