Wood panelled gaming at its finest
Warms the heart, doesn't it? 32 years after its release, the Atari 2600 has been inducted into the Strong National Museum of Play's Toy Hall of Fame. It's the only electronic game system in the Hall of Fame, which features such iconic time-wasters as the Slinky, Silly Putty and the Hula Hoop. We can't help but note that the cardboard box is also an inductee, but we can see the point - anyone who's spent far too much on the latest interactive edutainment device for their 3 year old nephew (or Hellgate: London for themselves) can attest that the box is always far more interesting than the contents.
