Compute-uh says noooo... *cough*
The launch day of Halo 3 caused the biggest surge of Xbox Live activity in the service's history, claims Microsoft. However, dealing with more than a million players desperate to battle it out didn't come without one or two technical hitches.
Many gamers began to whinge about the state of affairs on the official Xbox forums, complaining about the numerous problems that were hindering their attempts to connect to Xbox Live smoothly. These included frozen screens, mysterious error messages or just not being able to access Live at all.
“Xbox Live and Xbox.com experienced minor issues yesterday as a result of increased activity due to the launch of Halo 3. The issues were quickly resolved and both Xbox Live and Xbox.com are now working fine,” reassures Microsoft.
On Tuesday Halo 3 officially became the fastest-selling videogame ever during its first 24 hours on sale, grossing an estimated $170 million USD.
